Four buddies and I woke up at 5:15 am, put on our Hooked Soul gear, and headed down to the docks to board the Under Dog Charter boat in Murrells Inlet, SC. Once we were completely loaded down we set off on a 60 mile journey to the gulf stream. When we arrived, the first mate started rigging ballyhoo and skirts and put out 11 lines which included 2 downriggers. Cpt Shawn told us we were looking for wahoo today. After about 20 minutes one of the lines started to scream, taking off a ton of line. After about a 10 minute fight, we landed our first 35 lb wahoo. After that we started to catch one after another until we had about 8 on board. At this point the day was almost over and we were about to head in. But Cpt Shawn wanted to try to catch one more. After about 15 minutes, 2 lines went off and we ended up with 2 more wahoo! The captain was so excited, exclaiming that after many years of fishing, this was the most wahoo he had caught in one day! What a perfect day on the water with Hooked Soul.
